REMINDER: Meet in LIBRARY today

Downstairs by the helpdesk, Lab 03! Be prepared to begin your research into our databases, and bring your short paper with you.

For Tuesday, Nov. 15

1. Remember to MEET IN THE LIBRARY, downstairs by the helpdesk, lab 03.

2. Bring a hard copy of your Short Paper on your research topic, and also post it on your blog: What is your starting question? What do you already know, assume, and/or imagine about it? What information have you gotten from a google search? What do you now want to know more about from the college's databases? If you like, why is this topic especially interesting to you personally?

3. Final Atwood essay is due on Thursday, with drafts.

For Thursday

Blog at least twice with observations from your corner of the public sphere. Comment on classmates' blogs.

For Tuesday

1. Finish A Handmaid's Tale, and post a comment here in which you point to one or two specific passages and reflect on what you see going on in them. What do you notice? What interests you? What questions do you have? How does the passage connect for you with the rest of the book? etc.
2. Write a 1-2 short paper about the novel in which you build on your thoughts in your comment here. Bring a hard copy to class.

If so, I'd love to meet them. Unfortunately I can't be on campus for the whole designated parent-teacher-meeting time, from 3.45-5--I have to leave campus at 4. However, I will be in or near the Washington Room in Mather today from 3.30-4 and would be happy to meet your parents then. Come on by!
